Why does the media keep shoving Mitt Romney down our throats as a viable challenger to Obama?

that guy failed miserably in the last primaries. What we need is an exciting candidate to challenge Obama and what the Republicans have to offer is very BOB DOLE LIKE or JOHN MCCAIN like take your pick
